"Following the publication of the Walker Guidelines, members of the Committee have been working to increase understanding of the industry in the UK and beyond. This is evident in the number of high quality annual reports that have been produced by member firms to date as well as a general willingness to showcase company annual reports on their websites. To this end, we have also been communicating with Government, trade unions and other national associations to communicate the benefits the private equity industry can bring to the UK economy"

Objective

The Global Buy-Out Committee represents the interests of the BVCA’s larger members, investing multi-billion dollar funds. It works to ensure the BVCA’s engagement with Government and all other stakeholders accurately represents this segment.

Activities

  • Engaging with Government, trade unions, officials and other interested parties to articulate the benefits the industry can bring to the economy, particularly through ownership of large companies with annual sales in excess of £1 billion
  • Due to the global nature of the firms represented on this committee, it seeks to maintain close dialogue with other national associations across Europe, but also in the US
  • Working alongside the BVCA Technical committees:
    legal and technical, taxation and regulatory, byadvising on matters that affect Global Buy-Outs
