Private equity and venture capital in China

The BVCA is working in partnership with the China Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) and sponsors to bring together general partners, institutional investors and specialist service providers from China and Western Europe.



China’s private equity and venture capital industry remains relatively young but now has over 5,000 firms actively investing. During the earlier years, nearly 80% of deals in China were executed by global managers through their offshore funds. The landscape has changed considerably in recent years with a surge in the number of home-grown fund managers. This activity combined with recent steps taken by the Chinese Government to offer a number of institutions the flexibility to invest in PE/VC funds is a clear indication that the market is primed for expansion and that significant returns are possible.

This Forum will address the opportunities and challenges that China brings, including key Government regulation relating to foreign investors.

The CVCA will bring a delegation of GPs from China to participate in the Forum, so it will provide an ideal opportunity to network with local teams.
