Private Equity and Venture Capital in Russia

The second forum of the BVCA International Series will focus on Russia. In partnership with the Russian Venture Capital Association (RVCA), the Russian Venture Company (RVC) and the Russian Private Equity Initiative (RPEI), the conference will bring GPs from the UK and Russia together with international institutional investors with an interest in investing in Russia.

Despite 20 years of reforms and economic growth, the local investment industry is still nascent and strikingly small relative to GDP, size of the consumer market and population. Although the Russian private equity industry is at an embryonic stage of development, it is poised as one of the last untapped territories for international investors.

GPs based in the UK within an interest in emerging markets will benefit learning from investors and fund managers with hands-on experience investing in the Russian market. Institutional investors will have the opportunity to talk about the challenges they face when investing in Russia while also highlighting where they feel the best opportunities are for the future.

Agenda

The agenda is devised to cover a range of topics that are relevant to GPs, LPs, advisers and policymakers. The forum will begin at 8.30am and last until lunchtime.

The forum will facilitate international networks for BVCA members and for the visiting delegations of the RVCA, RVC and RPEI in order to provide the building blocks to assist fundraising, transactions and other areas important to investors and fund managers.

The forums are free to attend for GPs, institutional investors, journalists, government and NGO officials but places are limited.

Advisers with an international focus may attend subject to availability and for a cost:

• BVCA adviser members: £295+VAT per delegate

• Non-member advisers: £795+VAT per delegate
