The BVCA's Tax, Legal and Regulatory Committees have joined forces for the third year to bring you a combined technical conference that addresses the practical impact of the complex and technical issues faced by private equity and venture capital practitioners and advisers.
Delegates will gain an enhanced understanding of the technical issues at a time when our industry is facing significant regulatory and taxation developments. The one-day conference also includes vital networking and contact-building opportunities and is exclusive to all BVCA members.
Jesse Norman is the Member of Parliament for Hereford and South Herefordshire. He founded the national cross-party campaign for a PFI rebate, sits on the influential Treasury Select Committee and chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group on Employee Ownership. Jesse was educated at Oxford University and has a Masters and PhD from University College London. His experience includes working for charitable projects, in the financial sector, and as an academic. He has acted as a policy adviser to George Osborne MP, then the Shadow Chancellor, and to the then Shadow Work and Pensions team. He also advised Boris on his Mayoralty campaign.
A former Executive Director of Policy Exchange, Jesse has authored many books and pamphlets, and written widely in the national press. His 2006 book Compassionate Conservatism was called the "handbook to Cameronism" by the Sunday Times, while the follow-up Compassionate Economics was described as "the most intelligent political tract of 2009" in the Daily Telegraph online. His most recent book The Big Society: the Anatomy of the New Politics, published in November 2010, was hailed as an example of "policies without the politicking" by the Guardian.
Jesse Norman will address delegates at the BVCA Tax, Legal and Regulatory Event on 10 November. Jesse's presentation will look at The Economic and Social Challenges for the Coalition.
