A report recently published by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI) entitled "Private Equity, Public Loss?" claims to be a "myth-busting report on private equity". While we welcome rigorous analysis and debate of the private equity industry, the CSFI report contains no genuinely original analysis, and relies on a number of unsubstantiated claims.
