The BVCA primarily through its various committees periodically releases a number of documents to serve as guidance and as an educational tool to both entrepreneurs and new and potential investors.
Due care and attention should be taken when interpreting the guidance.
In all instances, readers should seek their own professional help and make their own independent evaluation before acting on anything contained within them.

Fund managers may be required to undertake periodic valuations of their investments as part of an ongoing reporting process to their fund-investors. The International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) Guidelines (‘Valuation Guidelines’) puts forward recommendations, intended to correspond to current best practice, on the valuation of private equity and venture capital investments.
The UK Investment Performance Committee (UKIPC) is the primary consultative forum for the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS), an international initiative to standardise the way in which investment information, primarily manager’s fund performance is presented.
