Introduction to Private Equity

The aim of this practical course is to enable participants to be more effective in their jobs by improving their understanding of the business, the roles of all of the players and how their work contributes to the success of the fund.

It will help demystify terminology and jargon and includes reviews of the structure of funds, the investment process, how returns are generated, financing structure and fund reporting and administration.

The workshop is highly interactive, with participants asked to discuss a series of real-life examples and case-studies of UK buyouts and venture investments across a variety of industries.

Target Audience

This workshop has been designed for PAs, IT staff, marketing and other support staff working in private equity and venture capital funds, and professionals in organisations that support private equity funds.

The workshop does not require any knowledge of accounting or finance. It focuses on the main concepts without getting into detail on numbers.
