LP-GP Forum: GP Led - Secondaries

Overview

The BVCA LP-GP forums are topic-specific breakfast forums, taking place throughout the year in London. These forums are held under Chatham House rules to encourage as much interaction as possible for a productive discussion.

Topic

GP Led Secondaries

The secondary market has experienced another year of record transaction volumes and continues to assume an increasingly prominent role in the private equity landscape. A significant driver has been the rise of “GP-led” secondaries as a portfolio management tool for GPs. These highly bespoke, complex transactions have rapidly grown to account for nearly one-third of the secondary market volume. The panelists will draw on their experience to de-mystify this growing segment of the secondaries market, discussing the evolution of GP-led transactions and what GPs and investors need to know to address the growing opportunity.
