Diane Albano, Chief Revenue Officer, Globalization Partners

Diane Albano has led high-performance sales teams for more than three decades, and is recognized for her strategic expertise in managing complex sales and services organizations. She has extensive international experience establishing and growing global markets, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Prior to Globalization Partners, Diane served in executive sales leadership roles at OpSec Security Inc., Ipswitch Inc., SmartBear Inc., Deltek Inc., Soundbite Communications, Workscape Inc., Fast (a subsidiary of Microsoft), and Progress Software. 

Diane is passionate about leading and developing organizations to achieve success and exponential growth, all while combining fun, motivation, integrity, and inspiration. 

Diane holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Massachusetts and attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family, skiing, golfing, playing tennis, scuba diving, and traveling the world.


 

Kathryn Barnes, Employment Counsel – Europe, Globalization Partners

Kathryn has worked in the legal field for over 18 years. Since being called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 after successful completion of her legal studies, Kathryn started to practice in Employment Law. During practice, Kathryn has represented Employers and Employees in Employment Law matters in many different settings and understands the challenge supporting a workforce can bring for any business. Kathryn has worked within International Employment Law and HR for over 10 years, finding the excitement and diversity of International Employment Law not only a thrill but a welcome challenge. 

Based in the UK, Kathryn is our European Counsel for Globalization Partners. Kathryn deals with all legal matters pertaining to European Employment Law in the support she provides to our ever - expanding HR Specialists and Operations teams. Kathryn’s diverse and substantial background in European Employment Law and business, allows her to close out complexed issues in a short space of time. 

Kathryn is passionate about removing obstacles for Companies to do business around the world where possible and within the confines of the laws in that country. Outside of work, Kathryn loves spending time with her family and friends along with the furry variety. She also enjoys travelling to new destinations and trying what food and wine is on offer. 


Nick Stocks, General Partner, White Star Capital

Nick heads up the UK office of White Star Capital with shared responsibility for European investments. He focuses predominantly on consumer and fintech, and is currently a board member at Packhelp, Clark, Butternut Box, Red Sift and Aire among others. He was involved in the transactions of both Meero and Tier. 

In his previous role as Principal at Global Founders Capital, Rocket Internet's $1bn stage-agnostic global fund, Nick led or participated in over 30 investments across four continents including into companies such as Grover, Canva, Nested and Albert. 

Prior to this, he was an early member of the Skyscape team (now known as UKCloud), during which time the company raised over £20m, and worked with Access Industries backed AINMT to launch a national mobile telecoms operator in Brazil. 

He began his career in the Investment Banking Division at UBS, where he advised telecom clients across corporate finance and M&A, and holds an MBA from London Business School. Raised in Portugal, he speaks both English and Portuguese fluently.
