Amy Abbott, Director of Events, BVCA (Host)

Amy Abbott is the BVCA's Director of Events. Prior to joining the BVCA in 2012, she was Head of Events & Awards at the Royal Academy of Engineering where she led a small team of event managers to deliver a highly regarded programme of events for the engineering fellowship comprising eminent chartered engineers, business leaders and Royal patrons. During her nine years at the Academy Amy was secretary to several awards committees including the prestigious MacRobert Award; involving events at Buckingham Palace. She also played a fundamental part in the launch of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering where she was responsible for the launch event involving the former three party leaders. She has a BA Hons in Business and Marketing from Oxford Brookes University.

George Potts, RIAG Chair, BVCA & Director, North Edge (Moderator)

George joined NorthEdge in 2011 and has played a significant role on our investments’ into Utiligroup, DW3, ITC, DHG and FIS. He led our growth capital investment into Cubic Motion as well as the subsequent exit to Epic Games; the primary MBO of Phoebus Software and has supported the successful AIM IPO of Accrol Papers and exit of Utiligroup to Accel-KKR. George was appointed to the BVCA’s Responsible Investment Advisory Board in 2018 and then in 2019 was elected as its Chair. He leads ESG and climate risk integration across our portfolio and is currently a Board member at FIS and Phoebus Software, as well as an adviser to Shell Ventures-backed SteamaCo.

Tom Beagent, Director - Sustainability and Climate Division, PwC (Panellist)

Tom leads PwC’s work around impact measurement and management and sits on the advisory groups for the Impact Management Project, Harvard's Impact Weighted Accounts Initiative, Accounting for Sustainability and BVCA's Impact Investing Advisory Group. Tom has worked with a number of private equity houses, impact funds and investment platforms to help integrate a rigorous approach to considering impact across the investment lifecycle from sourcing opportunities to exit. 

Keimpe Keining, Executive Director, LGT Capital Partners (Panellist)


Keimpe Keuning is an executive director at LGT Capital Partners where he is responsible for ESG and sustainability in Private Markets including Private Equity. He is a member of the ? rm’s ESG Committee and chairs the Private Markets ESG sub-committee. In his work activities he combines his investment experience with a strong client focus where discussions and solutions often revolve around portfolio insights, transparency and impact. Prior to joining LGT Capital Partners in 2018, Mr. Keuning was a portfolio manager for sustainable private equity at RobecoSAM in Zurich, a boutique investment ? rm focusing on sustainable and responsible investing. His main focus was on direct investments in climate technology companies. Before that he was with Robeco in Rotterdam where he was involved with a range of corporate development projects. Earlier in his career, he worked for Fortis Bank investment banking as an associate director corporate ? nance in Amsterdam. Mr. Keuning holds a Master’s Degree in Tax Law from Leiden University and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He is a Dutch national and is ? uent in Dutch, English and German.

Jeremy Smith, Head of Impact, Rede Partners (Panellist)

Jeremy is Head of Impact at Rede Partners, bringing Rede over 20 years experience of investment and capital raising focused on sustainability and impact. Jeremy's expertise ranges across private equity, infrastructure and venture capital in developed and emerging markets. Most recently Jeremy founded Norburn Partners, a fundraising advisory firm for sustainability and impact strategies. He is a co-founder of Berkeley Energy a leading private equity firm focused upon renewable energy in emerging markets. He started his career at Credit Suisse in M&A. Jeremy is a co-founder of CDP, the world’s leading disclosure system focused on environmental reporting, supported by investors representing $98 trillion of AUM. Jeremy has an MBA from London Business School and BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
