An integral part of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association's (BVCA) mission is to increase participation and representation within our industry. Our aim is to create an open and inclusive forum for the promotion of LGBTQ+ issues in the industry, sharing experiences and best practice with peers. 

Join us at our latest diversity webinar where we will focus on LGBTQ+ issues in a safe and open environment as we hear from 4 fantastic speakers. This webinar (held under Chatham House) will also provide an opportunity to share your insights during our interactive Q&A discussion.

Harry Briggs, Managing Partner, Omers Ventures 

Harry is a founder turned investor. He co-founded Firefly Tonics, a range of health drinks, back in 2002 – eventually exiting to Private Equity. Since 2009 he’s been a VC, first with Balderton, and now with OMERS Ventures.

Past investments include Touch Surgery, The Hut Group Revolut, GoCardless. More recently focusing on Health-tech, with investments including HelloSelf, Vidya, Relation Therapeutics.

Harry was the youngest investor to make it into the first Midas List Europe as one of Europe's "25 best venture capitalists" in 2017. Outside work, Harry plays piano, loves anything outdoors (tennis, cycling, hiking, swimming); he’s chair of Create Streets Foundation, catalysing developments that lead to healthier and happier communities; and he co-founded a choir, Voce, that had a glimmer of fame performing with the Rolling Stones at Glastonbury and the O2

Scott Church, Partner, Rede Partners 

Scott is a co-founder of Rede Partners and leads Rede's Coverage team. Scott leads global investor coverage and the Americas business for Rede. He brings over 25 years’ institutional sales and origination experience across private equity and debt capital markets.

Prior to co-founding Rede in 2011, Scott led the non-US investor and business development efforts for the private equity placement groups at Lazard and Merrill Lynch, and has worked on over 150 fundraising assignments in the last 20 years representing over $150 billion in aggregate funds raised.

Scott holds an MBA from The Leonard N Stern School of Business at New York University, and a BSc in Music and Business from Indiana University.

Martina Sanow, Partner and Deputy COO, Hg

Martina is a Partner and the firm’s Deputy COO, with responsibility for the firm’s operations including HR, Finance, IT, Compliance and ESG.

She has a focus on developing the firm’s talent and chairs Hg’s Diversity & Inclusion Steering Group. She sits on the firm’s Valuation Committee and is also a member of the Client Services team, where she focuses on fundraising and ongoing investor coverage.

Martina joined Hg in 2009 from Citigroup, where she worked on a number of capital markets and private equity transactions as part of the Nordic mergers and acquisitions team.

She is a Swedish national and holds a MSc in accounting and financial management from the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of British Columbia.

Dushy Sivanithy, Managing Partner, Head of Secondaries, CPP Investments 

Dushy has 16 years’ private equity experience and prior to joining CPPIB he was Head of Origination for Rede Partners where he was responsible for overseeing new business development and ongoing support for existing GP clients. Prior to Rede he spent 10 years with Pantheon where he was a member of the IC for Europe and Emerging Markets where he was also responsible for investments across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

He held over 20 Advisory Board seats and was responsible for Pantheon’s Responsible Investment activities; he was a founding member of UNPRI’s Private Equity Group. Prior to Pantheon he worked at Hermes Private Equity on fund and direct investments. He began his career at Morgan Stanley IBD. Dushy holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Kings College London.
