Zulon Begum, Partner, CM Murray 

Zulon Begum is a partner at CM Murray LLP specialising in Partnership and Corporate Law, and leads the non-contentious partnership practice at the firm. Zulon has extensive experience of advising professional and financial services firms and senior equity partners on a range of partnership and corporate matters. She has particular expertise in transactional work and regularly advises senior management in partnership businesses on a broad range of sensitive and strategically important issues. Zulon acts for clients in diverse sectors, including law firms, accountants, architects, real estate consultants, patent attorneys, insurance/reinsurance brokers/underwriters, private equity houses, and hedge funds. She has played a key role in a number of high-profile professional services firm mergers, both national and international.

Beth Hale, Partner, CM Murray 

Beth Hale is a Partner specialising in Employment and Partnership law and also acts as General Counsel for the firm.

Beth is extremely well-regarded and has a particular strength in explaining and simplifying complex legal concepts. She has extensive experience advising employers and employees on all aspects of employment law with a particular specialism advising on misconduct and investigations, frequently involving multiple disciplines and jurisdictions. Beth provides day to day advice on HR and management issues, including drafting contracts and restrictive covenants, managing sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance procedures, whistleblowing issues and performance management. Beth is often instructed in relation to senior departures by both senior executives and employers. She is also experienced in representing clients in litigation in both the Employment Tribunal and the High Court.

In addition, Beth advises partners, partnerships, LLP members and LLPs on a wide range of issues including partner exits, discrimination, whistleblowing, expulsion and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She has significant experience advising professional services firms on partner misconduct issues, including investigations and disciplinary matters, often involving sexual harassment and featuring both criminal and regulatory issues.

Beth has advised clients in a number of sectors, including financial services, private equity, rail, charitable, retail and hospitality, accountancy and legal.

Beth is ranked in Band 3 for Employment (Senior Executive) by Chambers and Partners UK 2021 and is described as “absolutely excellent”, “fantastically knowledgeable and always able to see the bigger picture”. She is also recognised as a “Key Lawyer” by Legal 500 UK 2021, and was recommended as a “Global Leader” in Labour and Employment by Who’s Who Legal 2020.

Naz Karimbhai is the International Head of HR at HPS Investment Partners. Prior to HPS, Naz was HR Director and Head of Talent for Bridgepoint, a global mid market private equity firm. In addition to being a senior HR business partner, she has experience in talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement initiatives, development, employee relations and reward. Prior to Bridgepoint, Naz was an HR director at PwC. She has a Business Commerce degree from Birmingham University and a Masters in HR. She is a Fellow of the CIPD.
