Sykes Holiday Cottages

One of the largest self-catering holiday property lettings agencies in the UK, Chester-headquartered Sykes Holiday Cottages was founded in 1991 by Clive Sykes. It has properties across the UK, Ireland and New Zealand.

Livingbridge invested in the business in January 2015, and at the time Sykes managed 5,000 properties in the UK and Ireland and generated £17 million revenue. By September 2019 the business managed over 17,500 properties with sales of £68 million, having delivered market leading organic growth and completed 12 acquisitions underpinned by a highly effective digital transformation strategy.

Livingbridge sold its stake in Sykes in October 2019 to Vitruvian Partners for the next phase of its growth story, investing in technology and people as it targets serving more than 3.5 million holidaymakers annually by 2023 and growing its workforce to more than 1,000 people.
