Utiligroup

Utiligroup is a data management software and managed services provider to the UK energy market, and was formed in 2014 through a buyout of several divisions of Bglobal when the original members of the management team spotted the opportunity for a successful business in a changing energy market. This led them to require funding from NorthEdge capital to fund the buyout.

The Chorley-headquartered company is a provider of innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions to the utilities and energy industries and has been the pioneer in delivering Energy2.0, the emergence of the independent energy market and the analogue to digital smart meter revolution.

Since the management buyout in June 2014, Utiligroup has seen rapid growth with turnover increasing by over 200% and headcount increasing by more than 2.5x from 88 to over 220, and provides services to more than 40 UK energy suppliers.

Utiligroup was acquired by Energy Services Group (ESG), a leading provider of technology solutions to the retail energy and utility industries, in April 2017.
