Vision 2022 – Leaders driving growth

Vision 2022 will recognise the best teams backed by private equity and venture capital, taking into account growth, competitiveness, innovation and ESG, with a focus on the future and the sustainability of the business as well as past performance.

Vision 2022 is an evolution of our Management Team Awards, which existed for over a decade, and briefly evolved into “Adapting with Purpose” in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Continuing our close collaboration with Grant Thornton, we are excited with the bold proposition of Vision 2022 and all that it encompasses.

We will applaud the extraordinary companies that show Vision, and the lasting value that the investment and hands-on involvement of their investors brought in 2021.

Three businesses from across Yorkshire and the North East were recognised for their exceptional performances in 2021 at our Yorkshire and North East Dinner on 19 May 2022. Learn more about the recognised companies below.

Recognition

Nominations are now closed.

Vision 2022 will take into account nominees’ work across four themes:

How companies remained competitive
How growth was achieved
Demonstrable innovation or agility
ESG commitment and progress

This initiative will compile the stories that cast a spotlight on those management teams who have shone and deserve to be rewarded with the highest acknowledgement.

Companies recognised will be announced at the BVCA’s National Dinners and the final full national list will be announced at the Gala Dinner in December 2022. The final list will include 15 companies, including four receiving a special accolade.

Management teams will have the opportunity to share their work and recognition with supporting marketing assets provided by the BVCA.

Special accolades will be awarded to companies at different stages: early-stage, scale-up, medium and large.

The period judged is calendar year 2021 and we are looking for the impact of investment and hands-on involvement coming to fruition. Investment is therefore very likely to have been received in the years prior to 2021. The closing date for nominations was 31 March 2022.

Vision 2022 is supported by Grant Thornton. The BVCA and Grant Thornton will invite selected nominees to interview with Grant Thornton, who will then compile information for the judging process. When making your nomination please therefore be prepared to introduce Grant Thornton to the investee company at a later stage.
