Private equity and venture capital fund managers are required to undertake periodic valuations of their investments as part of an ongoing reporting process to their fund investors.
The International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) Guidelines puts forward recommendations, intended to correspond to current best practice, on the valuation of private equity and venture capital investments.
The IPEV Board has published a review timeline for its Valuation Guidelines. The Guidelines were last updated in 2018 as part of the triennial review process. In 2020, the Board published guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic setting out areas to consider during periods of significant uncertainty. The 2021 review process has begun and will be finalised in Q2 2022. The Board welcomes feedback and is keen to engage with respondents during the consultation process. Please contact the Board at firstname.lastname@example.org
to input as it is keen to receive feedback by the end of January 2022.
