BVCA names private equity ESG champions

The BVCA is delighted to announce the winners of the BVCA Responsible Investment Awards 2019, sponsored by Ramboll.
These awards recognise and celebrate outstanding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices within the private equity and venture capital community. Decided by a panel of judges drawn from across the industry, the winners were revealed and presented with their awards at the BVCA Summit on 10 October.
The winners are:
Firms with more than £1bn under management
Arcus Infrastructure Partners
The judges were very pleased with Arcus’ multisectoral approach to responsible investment. Arcus demonstrated how they have fully integrated ESG into their 100-day plan for new investments and illustrated how value was thus created.
Firms with less than £1bn under management
ETF Partners
The judges noted that there was clear evidence of both the passion and belief in the way that ESG is integrated in their business, which clearly shines through. The judges were particularly pleased with ETF’s ESG reporting standards.
Portfolio Company Award
The Alchemist
Backed by Palatine Private Equity
The judges were impressed with Alchemist’s commercial rationale behind pursuing ESG commitments showing clear year-on-year improvement. In particular, the company showcased how they value and engage with their staff, for example illustrating clear governance and transparency of their tipping system.
