Lowe Rental, a specialist rental company for fridges, freezers and catering equipment, has been named as the winner of the BVCA’s Management Team Awards for Northern Ireland.

The BVCA Management Team Awards, produced in association with Grant Thornton UK LLP, showcase companies across the UK that are backed by private equity and venture capital funds and which have excelled in their field. The Northern Ireland award was picked up by Lowe Rental CFO Paul Lavery at the BVCA’s annual dinner in Belfast on 6 September.

The BVCA judges praised Lowe Rental’s “broad and innovative management team who have built a fast growing and highly profitable global business”.

Lowe Rental is currently backed by investment firm Perwyn, which supported a management buyout in March this year from previous investor MML Growth Capital Partners Ireland. MML had been invested in the Lisburn-based company since September 2014.

Lowe Rental will now go forward to the national final to compete against our other regional winners, before the national champions are announced at the BVCA Gala Dinner on 29 November in London.

Braidwater, a Londonderry-based house builder, finished as runner-up. The judges said: “An ambitious team who have driven exceptional levels of growth in recent years. Customer-focused management who are constantly pushing the business forward to expand its market position.” Braidwater has been backed by BGF since November 2015, which invested in the business again in February this year.
