The BVCA Executive comprises a diverse range of staff unified in their aim to drive forward the industry and actively demonstrate its impact to the government, media, and the public at large and to reinforce the crucial role our industry plays in the global economy.
This full-time and demanding role within the BVCA is an excellent opportunity for someone who has at least four years’ training or learning and development experience within a corporate, not-for-profit or charity sector. The role is ideal for someone who is looking to further develop their learning and development career.
The training team runs a comprehensive range of approximately 40 courses through classroom, e-learning and premium bespoke in-house training every year.
The role is based in central London but will include occasional travel within the UK and will require the candidate to be flexible with regards to working hours leading up to, and during, courses; usually outside of the normal 9am – 5.30pm working day.
This role will provide the successful applicant with a fantastic opportunity to build a detailed understanding of the private equity and venture capital industry, and to represent its interests to political and regulatory stakeholders, particularly following the UK’s vote to leave the EU.
The goal of the BVCA policy team is to promote a legal, regulatory and tax environment which enables enterprise and investment to flourish and ensure private equity and venture capital plays a full role in the success of the British economy.
Experience working in the financial services industry is essential (3 years plus); familiarity with a regulated industry is needed given the level of detail a successful applicant will have to deal with. A legal or accounting background would be ideal for this role. Furthermore, a willingness and ability to learn quickly is key, as is the skill of managing projects the Legal & Accounting and Regulatory committees are working on (note that this role does not cover tax).
