Chris Molloy, Founder / Chief Client Officer, Brand Potential
Chris Molloy is a co-founder of Brand Potential, a brand and innovation agency that unlocks potential for ambitious brand owners and investors. Working globally in core sectors such as food and drink, beauty and personal care, and consumer healthcare, their services span brand strategy, innovation, insight, and brand design. Chris leads the agency’s private equity practise. Brand Potential provides a range of services to support buy and sell-side transactions as well as portfolio companies throughout the investment cycle. Their approach provides confidence to invest through defining the heart of the consumer and brand opportunity, uncovering why and how consumers connect with brands.
Cheryl Potter, Former Chair, BVCA
Cheryl Potter is a BVCA Council member having Chaired the Association for the 2019/20 year. She is a Non-Executive Director at Best Secret. Cheryl spent much of her career at Permira the global private equity firm. She joined Permira in 1999, becoming a partner in 2005 and retiring from the partnership at the end of 2019. During her time at Permira she lead the Global Consumer Team and the London office. She also served on the firm’s Executive Committee and the Compensation and Partnership Committee. She worked on numerous transactions including Allegro Group, Arcaplanet, Creganna, Dr. Martens, Homebase, Iglo Group (and its subsequent acquisition of Findus Italy), Maxeda, Best Secret (formerly Schustermann & Borenstein) and The Reformation. During her time at Permira Cheryl served as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Allegro, Birthdays, Dr Martens, Gala Coral, Homebase, Iglo, Maxeda and Best Secret. Cheryl is currently on the Advisory Council of Level 20, a Founding Patron of Women Supporting Women (part of The Prince’s Trust) and a member of Tick Tock, a fundraising committee for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Prior to joining Permira, Cheryl worked at Royal Bank Development Capital and at Arthur Andersen in both Audit and Corporate Finance. She has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool and is a Chartered Accountant.
Kenny Wilson, CEO, Dr. Martens
Kenny became CEO of Dr. Martens in July 2018. He has considerable experience of managing and growing international retail brands. Before joining Dr. Martens, Kenny was CEO at Cath Kidston for seven years. Before that he was President, Europe for Claire’s Accessories, where he doubled profitability in two years and led a team that delivered impressive expansion across Europe, opening more than 300 stores between 2010 and 2011. He previously spent 18 years at Levi Strauss EMEA where he was a key player in expanding the Levi’s brand across the region, as President, Levi’s Brand and Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations.
