Ian Sandiford leads the Private Markets investment team at Border to Coast Pensions Partnership and is responsible for overseeing the investment of £19bn in commitments from its 11 LGPS Partner Funds.
He has more than 20 years’ investment experience and joined Border to Coast in 2018 following a role as Senior Portfolio Manager at East Riding Pension Fund.

Lucie Mills joined NorthEdge in 2019 to bring her experience of delivering change in a fast growth business to the private equity house itself.
As a Partner, Lucie supports NorthEdge portfolio companies to operationalise and deliver their value creation plan; facilitates portfolio connectivity to share learnings, best practice and access to the operating partner network; supports with Investor Relations and fundraising activities; and takes responsibility for ESG – recognising the role it plays in building better businesses and driving long-term value creation.
Lucie is also very active in wider industry advocacy, including taking on the role of Chair of the BVCA’s Responsible Investment Advisory Group in 2024 and regularly engaging with senior ministers to ensure the Lower-Mid Market & the UK regions are well represented in conversations regarding reform and policy development.
Chief Executive Officer, Molten Ventures
Ben Wilkinson was appointed CEO of Molten Ventures in October 2024, having joined the Group as CFO in 2016 and the Board in June 2019.
As CFO, he joined the Investment Committee and led on strategic projects across the business. Ben successfully built Molten’s balance sheet through equity and debt financing, broadening the shareholder register, and led Molten's transition to the Main Market. His efforts were pivotal to the Company's scale and resilience during a period of extensive growth and transformation, including multiple secondary portfolio investments.
Before joining Molten, Ben served as CFO for five years at AIM-listed President Energy PLC. Earlier in his career, he worked in M&A investment banking at ABN Amro/RBS, gaining significant cross-border transaction and corporate financing experience.
Ben is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) with a BSc in Economics from Royal Holloway, University of London. He also serves as a member of Molten's Sustainability Committee.

Director of Investment Risk and Sustainable Ownership, Railpen
Michael Marshall is Director of Investment Risk and Sustainable Ownership at Railpen, the investment manager and fiduciary adviser for the c£35bn UK railways pension schemes. Michael’s department is responsible for ensuring client capital is invested on a sustainable and risk-efficient basis. This includes investment governance, risk management of public and private markets, performance reporting, manager oversight, asset valuations, ODD and sustainable ownership.
Prior to joining Railpen Michael held a variety of senior roles in pensions, asset management and sustainability advisory. He is a member of advisory groups at the British Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (BVCA) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and is a Board Director of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). He studied economics at Bristol University.
Non Executive Director, Big Issue Invest
John is Director of a globally recognised programme at one of the world’s premier business schools. He is also an educator, trainer and co-author of a series of books on Private Equity that have been adopted by global business schools, institutions and academia. John is a partner level Corporate Financier in global professional service businesses for 20+ years and has raised over £1.5bn of private equity with realised cash profits exceeding £2bn. John is also a Trustee of The Big Issue Invest Trust.
