Kibosh Pipe Repair showcases its new patented plumbing repair technology to John Lamont MP
Leading UK plumbing solutions company Kibosh showcased their new repair technology to John Lamont MP when he visited their main headquarters earlier this week.
Headquartered in the Scottish Borders, Kibosh has developed a patented range of emergency pipe repair clamps and pipe freezing systems designed to minimise water damage and disruption in homes, workplaces, and industrial settings.
The visit was organised by the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), giving the MP the opportunity to meet with Kibosh’s Chief Executive Officer Ross Dickinson, to hear how private capital investment is enabling the company to scale innovation, grow its workforce and strengthen its growth overseas. With a growing global footprint and a reputation for practical, high-impact engineering, Kibosh continues to push the boundaries of emergency plumbing technology. Its products are helping to reduce water waste, prevent property damage, and support sustainability goals across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.
Kibosh is backed by Par Equity, an early-stage venture capital firm which supports innovative, high growth technology companies across the North of the UK. Kibosh secured $1.06 million in 2022 to advance its technology for tackling leaks in oil, gas, and liquid-carrying pipelines, supporting the company’s mission to improve infrastructure resilience and environmental safety. Their support has played a key role in Kibosh’s recent growth journey, providing both capital and expertise to scale operations and strengthen the company’s position as a leading player in plumbing repair solutions.
New data published by the BVCA shows that private capital-backed businesses in Scotland support 159,000 jobs and generate £11bn of GDP for the Scottish economy. In 2024, businesses in Scotland attracted £707m of private capital investment with 93 per cent of that investment going to small and medium sized businesses.
Commenting on the visit, John Lamont, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk said:
“It was fantastic to visit Kibosh – a homegrown business in the Scottish Borders – to see their incredible rapid pipe repair tools.
"These innovative tools are an engineering masterpiece, helping people to quickly fix pipe leaks. It is great to see Kibosh being shipped around the world and to hear about their rapid expansion into the energy and industrial sectors.
“It was a pleasure to meet CEO Ross Dickinson and his team, and I’m determined to support them to go from strength to strength.”
Commenting, Ross Dickinson, Chief Executive Officer at Kibosh said:

Commenting, BVCA Chief Executive Michael Moore said:
“Kibosh is a prime example of a business that has harnessed the support of private capital to achieve financial success, deliver innovation and support the local economy.
“Private capital is a partner for economic growth, supporting thousands of jobs in Scotland and across the UK. Our industry backs the most innovative businesses supporting local economies in every nation and region.”
