Leeds-based Nexus Vehicle Rental, Rosemont Pharmaceuticals, Hippo Digital and iPac Packaging Solutions in Gateshead, have won the British Private Equity and Venture Capital (BVCA) Vision 2025 awards in the Yorkshire & North East.

Leaders from the pensions and private capital industries have issued new recommendations on how to facilitate UK DC pensions to invest in private capital, and how the Government can support this aim – boosting investment in fast growing British businesses and helping UK pension savers access potentially higher returns. 

Increasing impact-led investment is vitally important to helping the Government achieve its missions of boosting economic growth, building an NHS fit for the future and making Britain a clean energy superpower, a new report has revealed.

Born out of the UK Government’s ‘Women-Led High-Growth Enterprise Taskforce’, which published its recommendations in its final report on 28th February 2024, the award aims to inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs by celebrating the success of leaders from high growth businesses backed by private equity and venture capital.

The British economy would earn a £100 billion boost by the end of this Parliament if businesses across the country achieved productivity growth comparable to private capital-backed firms, according to new analysis carried out by Public First for the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA).

A new report has found that the proportion of women working in private equity and venture capital has significantly increased over recent years. Diversity in UK Private Equity and Venture Capital 2025 finds that 27% of UK-based investment professionals are women, up from 24% in 2023. The report, which is co-authored by Level 20 and the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), also reveals an increase in the number of women in UK senior level roles (15%), compared to just 12% in 2023. 

A survey of over 2,700 private capital-backed businesses shows an increase in Environmental impact tracking and engagement.
