Tax Systems demonstrates its industry-leading compliance software to Lincoln Jopp MP
Global tax and accounting software provider Tax Systems received a visit from Lincoln Jopp MP at their UK headquarters on Friday, where they showcased the company’s transformative global tax compliance solutions.
Founded in 1991, Tax Systems is a leading specialist provider of software and solutions which digitise the tax compliance process – enabling tax professionals to automate workflows, enhance compliance, mitigate risk and generate valuable insights from their tax function. The company now serves over 1,500 clients, including multinational enterprises, >80% of the top UK&I accounting firms, and approximately 40% of the FTSE 100.
During the visit, the MP heard about the growing presence Tax Systems has seen in the tax compliance space, and the processes in place to ensure it supports clients as and when corporate tax compliance legislation is updated. The business also highlighted key policy concerns they were hoping to see addressed by the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves in the upcoming Autumn Budget.
The visit was organised by the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) during which the MP sat down with Tax Systems’ Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Martin and other key members of the team. Bruce explained the vital work Tax Systems is doing to transform the way tax professionals operate, enabling them to make the best decisions for their business and meet the challenges of a changing tax landscape.
In April 2025, Tax Systems announced that it had been acquired by Providence Equity Partners L.L.C. (Providence), a specialist private equity investment firm focused on growth-oriented media, communications, education and technology companies across North America and Europe. During the visit, the MP heard how Providence’s funding and industry expertise was being used to build on the company’s core strengths, driving expansion and innovation in its product suite and enabling the company’s geographic expansion, particularly in the EMEA region.
Data published by the BVCA shows that private capital-backed businesses in the South East support 342,000 jobs and generate £27bn of GDP for the South East’s economy. In 2024, businesses in the South East attracted £2.3bn of private capital investment, with 87% of those investments being made in small and medium-sized businesses.
Commenting on the visit, Lincoln Jopp, MP for Spelthorne, said:
“It was a pleasure to visit Tax Systems and see first-hand the impressive work they’re doing to transform global tax compliance. Their innovative software is helping thousands of businesses navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence and efficiency. Tax Systems is a great example of how British technology firms are leading the way in delivering smart, scalable solutions to global challenges.”
“I’m also pleased to see private capital supporting innovation in my constituency, through Providence’s investment. Private equity and venture capital play a vital role in driving growth, innovation, and job creation across the UK—particularly here in the South East, where private capital-backed businesses contribute billions to our economy. Supporting firms like Tax Systems is essential to ensuring the UK remains competitive and forward-looking in a rapidly changing world. I want to thank the BVCA for facilitating this opportunity to visit this fantastic business and meet both the leadership team and investor.”
Commenting, Bruce Martin, Chief Executive at Tax Systems, said:
“We were delighted to host Lincoln Jopp MP at our headquarters on Friday; it was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate how our innovative software is truly changing tax compliance operations on a global scale.
“We are excited to be backed by robust private equity funding from Providence since April. Their support is integral to accelerating our next phase of growth, providing us with the funding and expertise we need to scale effectively as we continue to execute on our strategic vision to become EMEA’s leading tax compliance SaaS platform.”
Commenting, BVCA Chief Executive Michael Moore said:
“Tax Systems is a prime example of a business that has harnessed the support of private capital to achieve financial success, deliver innovation and support the local economy.
“Private capital is a partner for economic growth, supporting thousands of jobs in the South East and across the UK. Our industry backs the most innovative businesses supporting local economies in every nation and region.”
